Zumbathon Against Cancer: Huge Success

There were 250 people in attendance at the Zumbathon Against Cancer this weekend and nearly every single one of them made it through the grueling 3-hour marathon. Whether they danced for a cancer stricken loved one, danced for the cause all together or just came to burn an excess of calories. The Zumbathon Aganist Cancer was a huge success! The day was marked by great music and moves and a candid testament of a cancer survivor herself. Olga Alamguer gave an emotional glimpse at her battle with the disease and gave thanks to Unidos Por Ti Cancer Foundation for helping her see it through. Saturday’s event offered something for everyone. Salsa, Merenge, Reggeton, hip-hop aerobics and even kickboxing were demonstrated by men, women and children of all shapes and sizes. Fox 2 News and sister station Univision were there to help usher in the event and get everyone pumped up for the intense work-out. Congratulations to all those that participated in the event! Your focus, dedication and conditioning of course were all on display for the worthy cause. In all, nearly $6,000 was raised to benefit cancer patients in the R.G.V. The event was so successful in fact that the next Zumbathon is already in the works.
