Just two years ago- -nearly thirteen million young Americans had no health insurance.

The revelation comes from a government report released this week.

The report is the result of a survey by the national center of health statistics.

It questioned more than nine-thousand people, ages twenty to twenty-nine.

What it revealed is that thirty-percent of young adults had no health coverage in two-thousand-eight.

In fact, it discovered that young adults were almost twice as likely as adults, thirty to sixty-four, to be uninsured.

The report’s lead author spoke about why so many in this age group don’t have coverage.

Robin Cohen says coverage is typically disrupted as this group moves from childhood to adulthood and they may loose their parent’s coverage.

The report was released one day before president Obama held a health care summit in DC.

Allowing both republicans and democrats to work together to get health care reform passed.
