A woman was held against her will at a residence in Brownsville where she was tortured and raped at the hands of someone she knew.
It is considered to be one the greatest fears of most women- becoming a sexual assault victim, but that is exactly what happened to a 41year old woman from Brownsville when the man she was living with became her worst nightmare.
Jimmy Manrrique, spokesperson for the Brownsville police department.- “She describes being sexually assaulted several times being beaten, hit with a baseball bat, knocking out a tooth. She describes being strangled”
The woman was tied up inside a dark room at a house located at 760-west fronton street. Her attacker has been identified as 43-year-old David Hobbs who is now behind bars facing charges for improper photography or visual recording, aggravated and sexual assault, as well as unlawful restraint. His total bond was set at 190 thousand dollars.
Miguel Angel Franco, neighbor of Hobbs.- “He is some what disturbed. One time he accused me of stealing his stereo and told me he could kill me with one finger”
Miguel Angel Franco lives in the neighborhood and says Hobbs has two kids, and that they just moved into the area about a year ago.
Miguel Angel F.- “Hobbs told me he had been in the service and had been captured and tortured by the enemy. I don’t know if this is true”
What is still uncertain is how well the woman knows Hobbs.
Jimmy Manrrique.- ” She was staying there with him. We are not going to comment on the relationship”
If you look at the windows of Hobbs home they are covered with foam, so that her cry for help could not been heard from outside. A camcorder that he used as an alert device is still connected on the front porch. Hobbs remains locked up at the Carrizales Rucker detention center where he awaits his trial.
