Violence erupts again on the Border

For at least the past week, rumors of violence across the border from Matamoros to Miguel Aleman in Mexico have stirred up fear among many folks of the Rio Grande valley.

Hidalgo/Reynosa bridge director, George Ramon tells fox2 they are aware of the situation and prepared to handle any type of event should it occur.

Hidalgo county sheriff, Lupe Trevino tells us they too, are well prepared with state and federal contingency plans in the event of any issue.

The second step is to assist law enforcement when in need.

Amid the increase in violence across the border, earlier this week the us state department renewed its travel alert for citizens visiting Mexico specifically naming Reynosa, Matamoros and Monterrey.

Fox 2 news learned of a renewed commotion at the Roma-Miguel Aleman international bridge,

Here is the video captured a few short hours ago… Mexican and us authorities were dealing with what was reported to be a grenade explosion at an undisclosed building on the Mexican side.

Miguel Aleman police have not issued an official report as of yet.
