VETERANS ELIGIBLE FOR STIMULUS CHECKS

Thousands of veterans across Texas are now eligible for the income tax rebate stimulus check.
Up until now, those checks were only issued to people who filed a 2007 income tax return.
That left out many veterans but the Texas veteran’s commission and the IRS said that has changed.
The two agencies are notifying veterans that they will be getting checks in the mail.
To qualify, a veteran must have made at least $3,000 in qualifying income.
That includes earned income, non-taxable combat pay and some benefit payments from social security, veterans affairs and railroad retirement.
