Veteran’s day honored across the valley
November 11, 2008 | News
It’s a day to honor the past, commemorate the present and hope for the future… Veteran’s day was celebrated all across the valley today in the most patriotic of ways.
Here in McAllen at veteran’s park the valiant efforts of those who have served this country were honored. It was a time for community members and leaders alike to come together and give thanks to the memory of those who have fallen and those who now live to tell about it.
President Woodrow Wilson first proclaimed Armistice Day for November 12 1919, but it wasn’t until four years later that a proclamation to observe November 11 with proper ceremonies was made.
