Two Immigrant Busts Within 24hrs. in La Joya

Two dramatic police chases, eight illegal immigrants caught and one alleged smuggler behind bars is the result of a small town’s police department latest fight against human smuggling. A video camera located inside a police unit captured the driver of a white pick up truck as he led police in a high-speed chase last night. The pursuit began in La Joya and ended near 3-Mile Line and Goodwin road in Palmview after the driver ran a red light and caused a minor vehicle accident… the pick up truck was crammed with at least 9 undocumented immigrants.
