Traffic Stop Turns into Drug Bust

A routine traffic violation leads to another big drug bust for the H.I.D.T.A. Task Force.
It was Sunday afternoon that Rio Grande City officers attempted to pull over a driver for a traffic violation on North Alvarez Road. However, when the officer approached the vehicle, the driver took off at a high rate of speed. The driver later abandoned the car and fled the scene. Authorities were able to recover more than 220lbs. of marijuana
Although no arrests were made at that moment, the H.I.D.T.A. Task Force continues their investigation.
