Texas Workforce Commission brings aid after Hurricane Dolly

Foxrio2.com is not responsible for any misunderstanding.Today the Texas Workforce Commission asked for federal assistance to fund jobs for the unemployed of the valley in the wake of hurricane dolly.
An estimated 2,500 citizens of the valley lost their jobs as a result of hurricane dolly. This group is primarily made up of agricultural workers who undoubtedly among the most affected.
“As we all know we have had a rough few weeks. The RGV has been hit rather hard. Some places harder than others with the aftermath of hurricane dolly.”
For this reason the Texas workforce commission, headed by chairman tom pauken, has asked for a substantial sum from the U.S. department of labor to fund 475 temporary jobs in Cameron Hidalgo, Starr and Willacy counties.
“Specifically, we will be seeking more than 7 million dollars primarily to provide public service jobs to individuals who have lost work as a result of hurricane dolly.”
Although the 475 jobs are temporary, 6 months in duration, it is hoped that they will provide much needed work for the unexpectedly unemployed. The work is expected to include but not be limited to debris removal and humanitarian assistance.
“And the valley has a great reputation for neighbor helping neighbor and so much is already being done. We want to add another dimension to this situation.”
