Testimony is scheduled to resume next week in the competency hearing for accused child killer John Allen Rubio.

The prosecution in the case will continue presenting their side when jurors reconvene in Brownsville. The prosecution is trying to establish that Rubio is mentally stable enough to stand trial for the murders of his three children in 2003. Rubio’s original conviction on capital murder charges was reversed by a state appeals court. Testimony today included jailers and a doctor who all said Rubio showed no signs on incompetence while in custody.
