The study looked at questionnaires filled out as far back as 19-38.For example, in 19-39 five percent of students had hypo-mania — a measure of anxiety and unrealistic optimism. In two thousand seven, that number shot up to thirty-one percent.
The study’s authors think modern day pop culture may play a role, from wealth to appearance to status.
