Teen Arraigned After Chase

This morning a 17 year old man was arraigned for wanting to escape from authorities in a stolen car. David Ortiz faces two charges; one for leaving the scene of an accident and the other for evading arrest. The judge gave Ortiz a combined bond of 55 thousand dollars.
According to authorities he had just stolen a vehicle in Alton before igniting a high-speed chase that ended when Ortiz struck a tree on Shary road. He may also be facing a theft charge in Alton for stealing a vehicle.
