Teacher Arrested for Allegedly Fondling Student

A La Joya schoolteacher is arrested after allegedly fondling a student in class. The 7-year-old’s allegations about her 57-year-old teacher, Javier Salazar came about in mid February. The girl told investigators the Americo Paredes Elementary School teacher had touched her privates during a test. Salazar resigned days later. He was arrested yesterday and arraigned on one count of indecency with a child. He was released on a $50,000 personal recognizance bond. If convicted, Salazar could face two to 20 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
