Tax season in finally here and e-file computer systems will be ready to process forms by this Friday, January 16. If you plan on filing your tax return online and you make less than $56,000, you can use the free file program provided by the I.R.S. completely free of charge. If you received a stimulus check last year, be sure to declare it with whomever prepares your taxes. There is no penalty; it simply needs to be declared.
