Tax season has arrived

Its one of the busiest weeks for employers as they begin sending out W2 forms. Tax season in finally here and e-file computer systems will be ready to process forms by this Friday, January 16. If you plan on filing your tax return online and you make less than $56,000, you can use the free file program provided by the I.R.S. completely free of charge. If you received a stimulus check last year, be sure to declare it with whomever prepares your taxes. There is no penalty; it simply needs to be declared.
Irma Trevino, I.R.S. Spokesperson: “So make sure you file your tax return on time and remember if you had two or three jobs throughout 2008, you have to wait to have all your W2′s in your hand so you can file a correct tax return.
