WILLACY COUNTY (KFXV) — The Willacy County Sheriff, Larry Spencer confirmed that their office is under investigation by the Texas Rangers and Homeland Security. It stems from discrepancies found in use of funds from the “Stone Garden” and “Border Star” grants that pay for overtime work. As part of their protocol, the investigation will audit records regarding dispersal of funds. Man Found Guilty of Brutal Double Homicide

A grand jury in Starr County indicted Jesus Angel Rebollar for two counts of capital murder that sent shockwaves of disbelief throughout the community. We first reported in early November, the grisly murder of a father and his son, 41-year-old Hector Garcia and three year-old, Julian Garcia, in Rio Grande City near the intersection of Woods Brothers Road and Sagunada St. The victims were found, gunned down in their vehicle. Edcouch (KFXV) – the Texas Rangers are investigating a deadly – shooting that happened over the weekend – near the Edcouch-Elsa School District Administration building. School district officials held a memorial ceremony in honor of the victims of Wednesday’s double homicide. Family, friends and district personnel gathered outside the multi-purpose center to remember the two district employees who were found tied up and shot in the head.
