Man Found Guilty of Brutal Double Homicide

A grand jury in Starr County indicted Jesus Angel Rebollar for two counts of capital murder that sent shockwaves of disbelief throughout the community. We first reported in early November, the grisly murder of a father and his son, 41-year-old Hector Garcia and three year-old, Julian Garcia, in Rio Grande City near the intersection of Woods Brothers Road and Sagunada St. The victims were found, gunned down in their vehicle. Officials Investigate Officer Involved Shooting

Brownsville (KFXV) — Sheriff investigators also looking into an officer involved shooting. They say it happened when they were called out to a domestic violence incident. When deputies arrived at the home on Paredes Road, a man identified as David Garcia tried to run one of them over causing the officer to open fire. School district officials held a memorial ceremony in honor of the victims of Wednesday’s double homicide. Family, friends and district personnel gathered outside the multi-purpose center to remember the two district employees who were found tied up and shot in the head. DONNA — Another person dies in the custody of Donna police. This is the second case being investigated by the Texas Rangers this week. According to a statement released by the Donna Police Chief, 28-year-old José Luis Garza was found unconscious in his cell after an attempt to hang himself this morning. We begin tonight in Rio Grande City, where the Starr County District Attorney’s office raided the county’s tax collector’s office arresting 15 people including tax assessor Maria del Carmen Pena and six government employees.
