Pharr (KFXV) – Over the weekend, police responded to the discovery of a body inside of a home near the intersection of Evans Road and dogwood. According to neighbors the bad odor caused them to report the incident. Fox has contacted the department for official information regarding the incident, but they have yet to respond. As of yet, no information regarding the identity of the person has been released. However neighbors also commented the individual who resides there is possibly in his sixties. IBC Bank Robbed; Suspect Wanted

MCALLEN (KFXV) — McAllen Police responded to an alleged robbery at the IBC bank on South Tenth Street in McAllen and Fox News was first on the scene. Authorities did confirm the incident occurred around 6 this afternoon. Little information has been released however, and we are waiting for authorities to confirm the amount stolen, but initial reports say the suspect fled with six thousand dollars. Two Recovering After Shot in Fronton; One Dead

FRONTON (KFXV) — We first reported on a shooting near Fronton, in western Starr County, last night that left two injured, and one dead. More details have been released. Starr county, along with state, federal and Mexican authorities are investigating the incident that occurred around 4 in the afternoon. The victims — who are all in the United States legally — report that they were fired upon from the Mexican side while fishing on a boat. Woman Sought for Aggravated Robbery Arrested

Edinburg (KFXV) — The woman Edinburg police were searching for after participating in an aggravated robbery this weekend has been apprehended, and faced charges this afternoon. Authorities arrested 28-year-old and Harlingen resident, Jennifer Urbina Espinal, for her involvement in the robbery of a TJ Maxx in Edinburg that left one security guard allegedly stabbed with a knife. Her accomplice, Miguel Abel Gonzalez stabbed the guard during the incident and later, was detained by law enforcement. Sports Car Trapped Under Tractor Trailer

LA FERIA (KFXV) — Scary moments for a driver who’s sports car was trapped under a trailer. Authorities responded to the incident in La Feria this morning near the intersection of Highway 83 and Mile Three. Vehicle Flips in Weslaco

WESLACO (KFXV) — Another driver lost control of their vehicle, causing their truck to flip over. The rollover happened on FM 88 and Mile 1 around 11 this morning. Officials with the Department of Public Safety confirmed the driver received treatment at an area hospital for their minor injuries. Defense lawyer’s pants catch fire during Arson trial in Miami

MIAMI (AP) — A Miami defense attorney is feeling the heat after his pants caught fire as he delivered closing arguments in an arson case. Witnesses told the Miami Herald (http://hrld.us/2m4lhIE ) 28-year-old Stephen Gutierrez was fiddling in his pocket Wednesday while addressing jurors when smoke started billowing from his pants. At the time, he was arguing that his client’s car spontaneously combusted and wasn’t intentionally set on fire. Gutierrez quickly left the courtroom. Jurors also were escorted out. Edinburg Couple Arrested for Sex Trafficking

EDINBURG (KFXV) — An Edinburg couple has been convicted of sex trafficking, according to the U.S Attorney’s Office. Thirty-seven-year-old, Abelardo Gomez and 25-year-old, Cerene Ortiz pleaded guilty on “conspiring” to commit sex trafficking of minors. In March of last year, according to court documents, Gomez brought a 14 and 15-year-old female minor from Louisiana back to his home he shared with Ortiz in Edinburg. During a two-week period, investigators say the minors engaged in sex acts with numerous adult males after creating advertisements on Backpage.com. After abandoning the girls in April, the girls called 9-1-1 and reported the incident....
