Harlingen Man Sentenced to 60 Years for Sexual Abuse of Child

HARLINGEN (KFXV) — On Monday, a Harlingen man received a 60 year sentence for continuous sexual abuse of a child. According to authorities, 27-year-old, Kevin Kaster received 60 years for the charge, and 20 years for indecency with a child. Both sentences are to be served concurrently. The Cameron County District Attorney’s office child abuse unit collaborated with the Rio Grande Valley Child Exploitation Investigations Task Force, and the U.S. Attorney’s office to arrest, and prosecute Kaster. Harlingen Man Arrested for Aggravated Assault

Harlingen (KFXV) – On Saturday, law enforcement in Harlingen arrested a man for aggravated assault after responding to reports of a disturbance near the 1800 block of Knox Avenue. According to police, the victim said the suspect Jose Guadalupe Trevino allegedly grabbed the shovel and struck him twice in the head. The victim received treatment at a local hospital. Woman Sought for Aggravated Robbery Arrested

Edinburg (KFXV) — The woman Edinburg police were searching for after participating in an aggravated robbery this weekend has been apprehended, and faced charges this afternoon. Authorities arrested 28-year-old and Harlingen resident, Jennifer Urbina Espinal, for her involvement in the robbery of a TJ Maxx in Edinburg that left one security guard allegedly stabbed with a knife. Harlingen (KFXV) — 42 year old, Fidel Diaz faces aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after stabbing a man. Harlingen police responded to the 600 block of North Ed Carey drive where they found a man with a stab wound to the arm. Police says it all began with an altercation between Diaz and the victim. Cameron County (KFXV) — Jury selection is underway in the capital murder trial of Ruben Torres. Accused of kidnapping and killing his 13-year-old girlfriend almost a decade ago.
