Brownsville (kfxv) – 22 people were evacuated yesterday afternoon after reports of a chemical leak. The Brownsville fire department is investigating the leak of toxic chemicals that happened at the quick Transit Corporation building on East Frontage Street. According to fire chief Carlos Elizondo, one individual receives treatment at an area hospital after he unsuccessfully attempted to close the leak and chemicals and detonated on his face and hands. Officials identified the toxic and corrosive chemical as U-N-2922(Glutaraldehyde). Paramedics Hazmat and Fire Marshals assisted. The incident remains under investigation as to who caused the leak. Defense lawyer’s pants catch fire during Arson trial in Miami

MIAMI (AP) — A Miami defense attorney is feeling the heat after his pants caught fire as he delivered closing arguments in an arson case. Witnesses told the Miami Herald (http://hrld.us/2m4lhIE ) 28-year-old Stephen Gutierrez was fiddling in his pocket Wednesday while addressing jurors when smoke started billowing from his pants. At the time, he was arguing that his client’s car spontaneously combusted and wasn’t intentionally set on fire. Gutierrez quickly left the courtroom. Jurors also were escorted out.
