Today five suspects got arraigned in connection to the homicide of Rogelio Pardo Jr. This court case started different than most, everyone that entered was inspected with a metal detector, because the murder involved gang members. Police say they feared retaliation, due to outbursts, as the judge handed down the charges, one person had to be escorted out. Hector Mendoza, his brother Arturo Mendoza, Damian Juarez and Roberto Garcia all received a $750,000 bond. Meanwhile, Adriana Garcia received a $200,000 bond for illegal possession of firearms and drugs. The victim’s family said that they don’t think the bonds were just. But the chief of police says this is only the beginning. Authorities say that Rogelio Pardo was beat up in one of the apartments and then left to die behind a dumpster. The incident occurred Monday approximately at 4am. The police were not called in until 7:30am. This isn’t the end of the investigation; police suspect more gang members were involved in the homicide. Police are looking for David Deon and two other suspects in connection to this crime. They still have not been identified. Authorities are also talking about shutting down the apartment complex where the crime took place; they suspect that more than 15 gang members live in the apartments where Rogelio Pardo was seen alive for the last time.
