Substitute teacher charged for sexual encounter with a student

A Donna substitute teacher faces formal charges today after accusations of having had had a sexual encounter with a student.

25-year-old Michael Jason Llanos was arrested for engaging in sexual intercourse with a 17-year-old girl from Donna high school.

The sex crime took place on Saturday November first at a private house west of Donna. School authorities were made aware of the situation after the girl came forward with the information.

“the office followed procedure and began an investigation and the substitute teacher was called into the office, he was working that day as a substitute, and was told he could no longer come to substitute at the high school. We followed up with out personnel department that he could no longer substitute in any of our schools”

Llanos was arraigned this afternoon where he was charged with improper relations with a minor. He was given a 50,000-dollar bond and could face 2 to 20 years in prison and or a 10,000-dollar fine.
