Southern Indoor Football League returns to the Rio Grande Valley

State farm arena, the city of Hidalgo and the southern indoor football league (sfil) announced today that football will return to the Rio Grande valley in 2011.
League president Thom Hager states Texans know football and they love the indoor game. Teams have played throughout the state in several leagues and everyone is excited to bring football that’s affordable back in the valley. New team owner, Chad Dittman has wanted to launch Hidalgo for years and has committed to a three- year arena lease with the city.

…Now all they need is a name!

The team will call the state farm arena home as early as march 2011.
