Shootout leaves man severely injured
October 3, 2008 | News
A shootout in broad daylight leaves one man hospitalized.
This morning the San Juan police department investigated a shootout inside of a medical plaza in that city. Although details are still scarce, it appears that a man inside a black Camry had at least 14 shots fired at him while he sat in the parking lot of iglesias professional plaza located on Raul Longoria.
“We don’t know what the fighting is about. We’re still going to go interview the victim at the hospital. He doesn’t have life threatening injuries and was rushed to the hospital.”
This eyewitness, of which there were many considering this all took place in broad daylight, says that the victim had what appeared to be gunshot wounds to his leg, stomach and upper arm. The wounded victim attempted to enter an obstetrician’s office to receive medical assistance… He was then rushed to the hospital. Although investigators are still putting the pieces together, they have made some important progress.
Above all else, police officials say to be shocked at the brazen disregard for human life siting that the suspects cared little for where their bullets flew. Today’s incident occurred mere feet from a busy maternity clinic.
The surveillance footage will be analyzed. Reporting for Fox 2 news I’m Efren Salinas.
