A construction worker was found dead just before the holidays. The man– whose identity hasn’t been released– was found at the new Sharyland High School site off Shary Road, near Mile 6, at around 4 p.m.
There are still many details left unanswered, but an eyewitness spoke to FOX2 about what he experienced.
“Well my mom heard the crash and then I came out and I could hear the commotion going on– voices talking in a high tone and asking for emergency vehicles,” said Joseph David Acosta. “That’s what they’ve been doing, they just put bricks up there so they could climb up and it seems as the weight was exceeded and, PUM!”
Sharyland-ISD released a statement shortly after:
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of the construction worker… Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time.”
Hidalgo County sheriff’s deputies were on scene, but have not commented on this investigation.
