Several Arrests Made After Drug Bust In Mission

Narcotics detectives served a search warrant today that ended in a drug seizure and several arrests. Investigators assigned to the hidalgo county narcotics unit raided a home near Vatia Boulevard and Ottumwa street north of mission around one o’clock this afternoon. At least 3 men and one woman were taken into custody after narcotics investigators conducted a search warrant that led to the seizure of several bundles of marihuana found inside the residence. One subject tried to make a getaway in a black Chevrolet pick up truck but was stopped a block away from the scene by a mission police officer. We’re told, this is a follow up to a previous investigation conducted by the hidalgo county sheriff’s office earlier this year. Mission police units assisted by securing the neighborhood. Detectives were not able to disclose the amount of drugs found inside the home and could not provide media outlets with the identity of the suspects in custody because they are being questioned at this time for their participation in this crime. The suspects remain in law enforcement custody tonight. They could go before a judge tomorrow facing drug possession charges.
