SEVERAL ARRESTED AT FLEA MARKET RAID NEAR DONNA

A local flea market gets raided and more than two-dozen people have been arrested.
The Hidalgo county sheriff’s department led the investigation on pirated items sold at the Valverde flea market.
Over 50 thousand pirated C.D.s and 40 thousand pirated DVDs were seized. The estimated street value of the items was estimated at 1.5 million dollars.
Official reports indicate that over thirty people were arrested in relation to this bust. Violations of federal piracy laws carry up to a 5-year prison sentence and $250 thousand in fines.
