Sentencing phase continues in Rubio trial

The sentencing phase continued this morning in the John Allen Rubio capital murder trial.

The 12 jurors who convicted 29 year old Rubio yesterday afternoon, continued hearing testimony today from witnesses including a police officer, that spoke about Rubios previous encounters with the law.

Brownsville police officer john Jones, testified about Rubios amiable behavior while being transported from the city jail to Carrizalez-Rucker on the night of the murders .

According to officer Jones, Rubio showed no remorse, being more worried about his jail situation than anything else. The jury will decide in the next coming days what punishment Rubio will receive. Testimony continues tomorrow. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.
