Second Suspect Still On the Loose After Pursuit
Weslaco (KFXV) — One man is in custody of the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office after a hit-and-run and another is on the loose.
Police are still searching for a second man involved in a hit-and-run accident with a sheriff’s deputy.
The crash happened near the area of Mile 11 and FM 1015 in Weslaco.
The two individuals in the pickup truck, then fled the scene and drove to the area of Ruby Drive, three miles from the collision.
One of the men tried going into a home– where he had been staying for a couple of days– but tried fleeing on foot once again, as police arrived.
I spoke to the homeowner — who did not want to give an on camera interview — who told me it was his nephew who had been placed in custody– adding that he was in probation at that moment.
The other male was picked up by an unknown vehicle.
During that time, at least two schools near the area, were placed under lockdown, as officials believe the men may have been armed.
Police are searching for the second suspect, who is described as a medium build man. He was wearing a cap and a white shirt with blue jeans.
