At least three young vandals damaged thirteen school buses Sunday evening at the south Texas independent school districts business, education and technology academy campus in Edinburg.
Several of the buses were driven into trees and it looks like a few of them were driven into each other
The Edinburg police department is now reviewing surveillance video to get a clear description of the teens involved. Deputy superintendent, Jeff Hembree, says the school district is looking into making changes because apparently the keys were left inside all the buses.
The keys are kept inside unfortunately in the buses because we have multiple drivers and that is something we will look at as we move forward
The school districts transportation director, Alex Noyola, made a few early calls this morning to get a hold of several temporary school buses from other cities.
The damaged buses could be gone for days.
In the meantime, bus drivers will post up signs on their windows with their route so the students wont get confused.
If you know who vandalized the school buses you are urged to contact the Edinburg police department.
