A routine traffic stop turns into a huge marijuana bust.
At around 7 a.m., La Joya police attempted to stop a traffic violator before he sped off, prompting authorities to follow.
“He continued eastbound and then northbound on tom gill for approximately 2 and a half miles, where he lost control of the vehicle and he took off running into a subdivision where he was pursued on foot and captured.”
The suspect injured his knee and received medical attention before being handed over to the H.I.D.T.A. Task Force. Inside the vehicle, police found 300 pounds of marijuana.
