Rio South Texas to Bring More Jobs

Several cities and counties have teamed up to bring new
jobs to the valley.19 city and county leaders as well as
economic development directors met in Weslaco as part of
the Rio South Texas economic council which began first, as
a unity of cities in Hidalgo County and later spread
through Cameron, Starr and Willacy counties.
The purpose for this council is to market the region abroad
to attract private industries to the valley and ultimately
create jobs in the 3rd largest metroplex in the state.
The Rio South Texas Economic Council is a non profit
organization which looks forward to working with
international members under the slogan…” Two counties…
