Rick Perry visits the R.G.V. for special grand opening

The economy has had its ups and downs although the valley hasn’t seemed to feel the effects like the rest of the nation.
The grand opening for the Warehouse Kingdom was held in McAllen earlier this afternoon, and it hosted a special guest. Gov Rick Perry stopped by to talk about the economic growth the valley has been a part of and how this new warehouse will do great things for Texas and Mexico.
The Warehouse Kingdom will house items that will be traded between Texas and Mexico, which helps the falling economy thrive. Texas has millions of dollars in surplus revenue thanks to this type of trade.
The idea for the factory started fifteen years ago, and it was Elio Batello’s vision to start something great for the valley. 168 billion dollars leaves the state to help the economy thrive and about 56 billion goes into Mexico,
This warehouse will create 400 new jobs for the valley and 12 other companies are looking to build a similar building for the trade. Perry says Texas will weather the economic crisis thanks to the partnership between the state and Mexico.
In the past companies like the warehouse kingdom have created over 140,000 jobs and reduced the unemployment rate for Texas to about 7.9 percent and the numbers are still falling
