R.G.C.I.S.D. Schools Off Another Week

After initially making their announcement last week, Rio Grande City has chosen to keep their campuses closed yet another week due to the Swine Flu. Administrators decided to go through with the decision after consulting county health authorities. It will be next Monday, May 11, that students are expected to return to class. The Texas Education Agency sited that schools will likely be granted waivers so the missed days will not have to be made up at the end of the school year. Allowances are also being made to postpone the scheduled TAKS testing.
