Residents Experience Minor Flooding After Rains

PENITAS (KFXV) — Several minor accidents, taking place throughout the day.
You just heard one of dozens of “Pueblo De Palmas” residents who’ve been affected by the strong rain that hit several areas in the Valley.

Some residents north of the city of Peñitas, have been affected by an overflowing canal that left inches of water in several neighborhoods.
While some drivers ventured over the water, others decided to turn away.
But for Rene Santes Cortez and his family, this isn’t an option.

The canal next to his home, overflowing into the road– showing just how much rainfall hit this area.

Several residents we spoke to, tell us this type of flooding is not common in the area.

We were unable to reach Peñitas authorities to comment on the flooding.

We’ll keep you updated as more rain is expected throughout the week.
