Most of South Padre Island expects to see some power restoration today with incremental restoration in the next few days.
Mayor Robert Pinkerton says in a press release that AEP crews are all over the island working hard to get everyone back on their feet.
Only island residents, business owners and those with specific business are being allowed onto the island, but SPI officials say this temporary restriction may be lifted very soon – as power is restored.
AEP urges the community to unplug or turn off washers, dryers and other major appliances and electronic equipment like televisions, vcr
