Red Cross provides help for victim’s of Hurricane Dolly

Its been almost a week since the American red cross set up their operations here in the valley. In the first phase of support offered by the Red Cross organization and its volunteers, victims of hurricane dolly have been offered shelter, basic medical attention and warm meals…
“Once we get over that phase we start with damage assessment we will move on to client services which is taking on actual cases and that is in process already.”
This outreach one-on-one service will be done with individual caseworkers and will benefit those citizens who have suffered major damage to their homes and property.
“we already have a lot of cases that are pending and we have a lot of work ahead of us.”
Fortunately, this workload will soon be lessened for Red Cross workers. In addition to the 200 volunteers already in the valley, an approximate 300 more have just arrived.
“These volunteers are working together and assisting people needing our help. Up to today we’re served over 150,000 meals and had 1,225 overnight stays.”
