The crowd of about one-hundred had their eyes glued to a laptop on the stage.. They were watching the news of a US federal judge ruling against parts of the law…
The crowd cheered and chanted “Arizona hang in there, the people are rising!” when they heard the ruling. The provisions of the law that brought about the most controversy will not take effect Wednesday — including the requirement of officers to check a person’s immigration status while enforcing the law. Supporters say the law is a constitutionally sound effort by the state to help federal immigration agents and decrease worries along the border.
