Ryan’s visit marks a first as part of the new administration trying to see firsthand border issues in this region.

After finishing the tour and meeting with local officials at the Border Patrol Station in McAllen.

Several organizations gathered to protest against the Republican’s visit.

Determined to speak to Ryan, protesters decided to cross the road– briefly stopping traffic.
