When it comes to prostate cancer, having a wife or significant other may help motivate a man to get screened.
Early detection is associated with drastically improved survival rates. But a new university of Michigan study finds, men are less likely to go for early screening unless they have a wife or significant other living with them. University of Michigan researchers found men who lived alone were forty-percent less likely to be screened for prostate cancer. It’s the second leading cause of cancer deaths among men in the U.S. The findings appear in the latest “Cancer Epidemiology, biomarkers and prevention” journal by the American association for cancer research
