Us congressman Henry Cuellar has requested the us customs and border protection agency to allow unmanned unarmed predator drone to help combat narcotics trafficking and potential threats of terrorism along the Rio Grande from Brownsville to El Paso.
Cuellar has been seeking the use of drones for border surveillance for four years… He says, now more than ever, the unmanned aircraft could protect this region from challenges that include Mexican drug wars.
Cuellar plans to meet with federal officials in April to press for use of the predator drones to patrol the Texas Mexico border.
