STOLEN CAR CHASE ENDS IN THE RIO GRANDE

A stolen vehicle was the object of a police pursuit, which involved authorities from mission, Palmview and border patrol.

The driver led the chase towards Anzalduas Park near an opening that leads straight to the Rio Grande River in a desperate attempt to evade justice.

The driver was able to flee into Mexico, but the vehicle was seized. Officers detected several armed men waiting for the suspect on the other side of the river. Several packages of marijuana were found inside the car. This particular location seems to be a popular spot for busted drug and human traffickers who swim into Mexico to escape U.S. authorities.
