A pistachio processing plant in California was being investigated for possible salmonella contamination.
Public health officials say pistachios processed at Setton Farms may have been tied to nationwide recalls of trail mix and bagged nuts because of possible salmonella contamination. Food safety officials were investigating the central California plant that describes itself as the second-largest pistachio processor in the U.S.
A spokesperson for the food and drug administration says Setton Farms will recall a total of about one million pounds of pistachio products. There have been no reports of illnesses tied to the pistachios.
