More people say they’re getting fat – according to a new survey.
The centers for disease control and prevention interviewed more than three hundred thousand Americans over the phone. Their report estimates a two percent jump between two thousand five and two thousand seven in the number of people who believe they’re obese. Overall — that’s a quarter of all Americans.
Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee have the highest rates at over thirty percent. Colorado is the lowest at nearly nineteen percent. The CDC recommends eating fruits and vegetables, exercising, and avoiding fatty foods to control weight. Obesity can lead to type two diabetes, heart disease, and stroke.
The report appears in the CDC’s morbidity and mortality weekly report.
