No Border Fence on U.T.B. Campus.

Foxrio2.com is not responsible for any misunderstanding.It was a victory marked with applause and cheer, University of Texas Brownsville president Juliet Garcia today announced a federal court agreement that will discard any plans to build a wall that would split the UTB/TSC campus in two.
Instead the agreement was reached that existing perimeter fencing will be upgraded with cameras and sensors.
During a morning court hearing, lawyers for the government and university said UT-Brownsville would at its own expense raise existing fencing to 10 feet high while allowing the border patrol to install people-detection technology and continue patrols.
The university will serve as a test site for how alternatives to a fence can work. The federal government is committed to having 370 miles of fence up by December 31.
