New McAllen Border Patrol Station

The Border Patrol hosted an open house at the new McAllen station.

The ceremony was held this morning to give visitors an opportunity to tour the new facilities located at 3000 West Military Highway in McAllen.

The station officially opened its doors in august of 2009, but due to the operational tempo of the station, there was no opportunity to host a formal grand opening until today.

The 68 thousand square feet facility sits on 40 acres and has the latest in technology.

The McAllen Border Patrol station is the largest in the country and the first 500 man station in the nation.
