New DNA link found linking missing woman to Sex offender

New york state police investigators have reportedly found a DNA link between Laura Garza, a Mcallen woman missing for more than a year, and Michael Mele, the registered sex offender she met at a Manhattan nightclub.

Melee has long been a suspect in Garza’s disappearance and is currently in jail for an unrelated sex crime. The state police have sent the DNA evidence to the district attorney’s office for review. Sources did not elaborate on the nature of the DNA link. In December 2008, Garza left a Manhattan nightclub and was never seen from again. She apparently left the club with melee.
