New assistant chief of police named

The city of mission has named a new assistant chief of police.
Having served his community for more than 16 years now, the former spokesperson for the Mission police department, Lieutenant Martin Garza, is the newly promoted assistant chief of police.
“We’re growing so fast. The rapid growth and the expansion of our city limits, the expansion of our community. We did not want to leave the citizens out of the communication with the police department.”
Lieutenant Martin Garza tells Fox 2 news that there is plenty of room for upward movement in the department for others and he is thrilled to continue serving his community in this new position.
