Naked Fugitive Caught in U.S.

A man on the run from Mexican authorities ends up swimming naked across the river near Anzalduas Park where border patrol agents later apprehended him.

This morning two Reynosa police officers tried to arrest a burglar. The suspect injured Officer Carlos Heriberto Guerrero and Jose Salinas in his attempt to evade the arrest.

Guerrero was stabbed at least 4 times and Salinas was struck with his own patrol unit.

In a press conference this morning, the Reynosa police chief explained what exactly happened across the border.

Reynosa police chief Carlos leas said that when Mexican authorities tried to stop him, the man stabbed officer Guerrero in his left shoulder blade and immediately runs to the police unit as officer Salinas tries to assist his partner. The suspect turns the unit on and tries to run over Guerrero pinning him against a wall. He manages to flee the scene as our officers shoot at the tires in an attempt to stop him. He initiated a pursuit that resulted in the recovery of our unit but unfortunately the suspect absconded towards the river and crossed towards the U.S. side.
