Murder Trial Begins For 30 yr. Old Man

Opening arguments began today in the trial against a second suspect involved in the murder of a McAllen man. 30-year-old Hazael “Ozzie” Gonzalez is standing trial facing capital murder charges for his alleged participation in the killing of Miguel Cahue. According to police reports, Gonzalez and two other adult males and 4 juveniles all took part in this gruesome murder. The victim’s lifeless body was found beaten to death on august 8, 2008 in his McAllen home located near mcColl road and La Vista Avenue. Judge bobby Flores of the 139th district court is assigned to the capital murder case against Hazael Gonzalez. The prosecution showed the jury a video of the initial crime scene and described how the murder allegedly took place. According to detectives, the suspects ransacked the home and dragged the victim’s body from the living room to the bedroom where he was later found by his son in law after he’d gone missing for several days. The seven suspects allegedly took Cahue’s digital camera, dvd player and a personal laptop. The trial is set to continue tomorrow morning.
