Murder suspect extradited

A man who had been in prison in Mexico has been extradited to the United States to face murder charges.
Jose Luis Cantu Gonzalez is the prime suspect in the death of his one time girlfriend 17-year old Nellie Casas from Las Milpas. According to records, Cantu was saught by F.B.I., U.S. marshals and Pharr P.D. for two years.
The day of the murder both allegedly had had an argument in which Casas broke off the relationship. Records indicate that Cantu strangled Casas with a cable. Her body was discovered by authorities on March 19th 2006.
After the harrowing incident, Cantu fled to Mexico to a small town known as el Limon, but he was arrested in Reynosa for carrying an illegal firearm. Now that extradition is complete Cantu will face a judge in a formal arraignment tomorrow.
