Foxrio2.com is not responsible for any misunderstanding.Today the border patrol in conjunction with immigration and customs enforcement made a large bust of illegal immigrants in the city of Edinburg just a few blocks from UTPA.
At approximately ten in the morning, agents of the border patrol and ice entered a home located on 708 jasper street where a large group immigrants were allegedly hiding.
The women were the first to go. One by one they were placed into three border patrol units and sent off for processing.
As agents waited for a wackenhut transport bus to arrive for the men, three intrepid immigrants saw their opportunity for escape…
While officers searched for the ones that got away, the agents still at the scene placed the remaining immigrants into the transport and sent them off for processing as well.
Just as soon as the wackenhut bus had departed, our cameras were able to catch a glimpse of what appeared to be one of the fleeing immigrants. Along with the immigration and customs agents we gave chase… Eye witness Rita, was out sweeping her back porch when she was startled by a young man who she says was out of breath…
Although a few got away, the overall number of detained immigrants was a whopping sixty-two.
Fox 2 news has learned that the majority of the undocumented immigrants were not of Mexican origin also known as other than Mexican.
